Creative Features Editor for Women's Lifestyle Section (The Daily Sentinel)

Post date: 16 September 2010
The Daily Sentinel, an award-winning 8,000 daily circulation newspaper in Nacogdoches, Texas, owned by Southern Newspapers, is looking for an experienced features editor to write for and design the newspaper’s food, women's lifestyle, entertainment and religion sections. This individual would also be responsible for developing creative web features to accompany feature stories, such as slideshows, video and web polls and would work closely with a sister newspaper to brainstorm and execute features for a bimonthly women’s lifestyle magazine. Some general assignment reporting is also required. The ability to juggle competing deadlines and assignments is a must.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivator with a passion for writing compelling stories and designing award-winning pages. The ideal candidate would have two years experience with solid clips, good news judgment and a creative eye. However, recent graduates with strong intern clips and daily deadline experience may be considered. We offer competitive pay for the right person, good benefits, paid vacation and a 401- K program. Immediate opening. Contact Managing Editor Robbie Goodrich at 936-564-8361 or at rgoodrich@dailysentinel.com.
