The Library and Research Center facilitates knowledge creation about the history and achievements of inspirational women artists worldwide by providing a number of awards and prizes.
The Suzanne and James Mellor Prize of $50,000 is awarded annually to the best proposal for a scholarly book on a woman artist.
The purpose of the award is to disseminate the highest quality of groundbreaking research on women artists from all time periods and nationalities and to enhance the role of the museum in shaping scholarly dialogue on the arts. Research should be sufficiently advanced to permit timely completion of the manuscript.
Application information for the 2012 award will be available by April 1, 2012.
