The Editorial Director will oversee the planning, development, quality standards, and creation of content and websites and online applications. The position will manage an internal team of online editorial professionals and work collaboratively with production, product development, design, business development, advertising sales, marketing, public relations and strategy/operations teams.
This position reports to the SVP/GM Women's and Lifestyle programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working collaboratively with editorial teams, develop and implement the editorial vision and voice, strategic plans and editorial calendars for sites.
- Direct site redesigns.
- Oversee and direct day-to-day edit and production inclusive of all copy and photo, site upgrades and SEO improvements with the goal of increasing audience size and engagement.
- Manage the online editors for the various sites— working to grow their skills and improve the quality of the sites.
- Work with advertising sales team to communicate editorial plans and create opportunities for advertisers.
- Work closely with VP/GM to monitor and increase margins on the business.
- Work closely with strategy and business development to prioritize and forge partnerships; oversee post-deal day-to-day partner management and execution
- Manage relationships with content and syndication partners.
- Oversee editorial budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 12-15 years directly related experience, with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong editorial experience on the web
- Strong project management experience.
- Strong relationship skills, including experience working
collaboratively with internal team on creative and technical projects.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or equivalent experience.
