Job Opening: Entertainment Editor for InStyle (Time Warner, New York)

InStyle magazine is seeking a talented and experienced entertainment editor with strong skills in a variety of areas, including writing, reporting, editing, assigning, idea generating, packaging, and booking.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to conceptualize and package a wide variety of compelling content covering the worlds of entertainment and pop culture and have already established contacts with studio and celebrity publicists.

An obsession with pop culture and great writing are a must, as are top organizational skills and a detail-oriented mind.

The editor must also be a team player accustomed to meeting deadlines, generating ideas, rallying staffers and working under pressure.

S/he should have a strong visual sense and be able to clearly convey ideas to photo and art departments. S/he should be meticulous, resourceful, conscientious, and a self-starter.

This position’s dedicated components include:

• Conceiving, producing, assigning and editing cover stories and other celebrity features
• Conceiving, assigning, editing and executing multi-department feature packages
• Covering the entertainment beat—keeping up with screenings, TV pilots, music launches, and recommending talent, both new and established, for coverage based on their projects and heat.
• Helping the LA bureau with some celebrity bookings.

Familiarity with InCopy as well as a background in women’s lifestyle is a plus.
