Job Opening: Editorial Assistant for FabSugar and Fashionologie (Sugar Inc., NY)

Sugar Inc. is looking for a creative, driven editorial assistant for its fashion sites, FabSugar and Fashionologie. Our ideal candidate has excellent writing skills, is Internet savvy, can spot trends in the making, and has a strong interest in fashion. If you can spot a Celine bag from a mile away, live for Fashion Week, and are eager to work on a thriving, growing online publication, we want to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with other FabSugar and Fashionologie team members on daily content; research and write multiple posts each day about trends, shopping, and fashion news
  • Support FabSugar and Fashionologie editors daily by selecting and editing images for stories, transcribing interviews, and other miscellaneous editorial tasks
  • Assist FabSugar and Fashionologie editors with editorial tasks such as pitching stories to partners, updating editorial calendars, keeping track of contacts, and building social media efforts
  • Attend and report on industry events, including Fashion Week, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in writing/editing/blogging, online publishing, or related field
  • Strong interest in and grasp of the fashion arena
  • Knowledge of online media, especially as it relates to fashion
  • Superior attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Willingness to take on evening and light weekend work
  • HTML and Photoshop skills preferred
