RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Beauty Director to hone and execute vision and voice of BellaSugar
- Maintain BellaSugar editorial calendar and lead high-level planning of monthly, weekly, and daily content
- Produce multiple pieces of standout content each day about makeup, skin care, hair, nails, fragrance, and more
- Line edit other BellaSugar team members’ work on a daily basis and provide coaching and feedback
- Execute projects while leading staff across multiple cities/time zones
- Manage and contribute to audience and traffic growth through social media and other marketing activities
- Closely follow beauty-industry news and read all relevant beauty media
- Work evenings and weekends to cover award shows, Fashion Week, and other major events
- Attend and report on industry events as needed
- Mentor and manage a team of three full-time editors
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-6 years of professional experience in writing/editing/blogging, online publishing, or related field
- Experience in and contacts throughout the beauty industry
- Strong knowledge of online and social media
- Ability to turn around tight, accurate copy while meeting and enforcing daily deadlines
- Willingness to appear on camera
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Experience editing and leading a team of writers
- Intermediate to advanced HTML, Photoshop, and photography skills required
