TAG Publishing is looking for that perfect romance! Our contest seeks the best unpublished work in different areas of romance and will award a top prize of $450 to the Best of Show and prizes of $75, $50, and $25 to first, second and third place in each category.
Upon completion of the contest and after all prizes are awarded, full manuscripts may be requested by TAG Publishing from some or all finalists. Based on the merits of each book requested, a publishing contract may be extended by TAG Publishing to the most outstanding authors. Authors are not required to send their full manuscript or accept any contract offered. Authors retain all rights to contest entries and no entry will be used in any form by TAG Publishing without the author’s express written consent.
This contest is completely electronic so please follow the guidelines carefully.
• Deadline: Electronic timestamp of submission email no later than midnight Feb 28, 2011.
• Entry fee: Early Bird Entry Fee $25 per entry until midnight Feb 14, 2011 and thereafter $35 per
entry. Authors may enter as many categories as they wish as long as a separate email with
submission attached and category noted is sent and additional entry fee paid.
• Total monetary awards: $1,350 which includes: one $450 Best of Show, and three prizes in each
of the six Category awards: $75 1st Prize; $50 2nd Prize; $25 3rd Prize.
• Winners will each receive a written critique from the Editors at TAG Publishing.
Romance Categories:
o Regency
o Contemporary
o Young Adult (YA)
o Paranormal/SciFi
o Suspense/thriller
o Historical
• Manuscript must have black 12 point font, preferably Times New Roman. Pages should be formatted to 8.5 x 11 size and text double spaced with no additional spaces between paragraphs.
• Word count is limited to a 750 word synopsis followed by no more than 7500 words from the
beginning of your book manuscript.
• Each page should have a page number and title in the upper right hand corner – no identifying
author information should appear on the manuscript
• All files must be submitted via email (EY2011@TAGPublishers.com) and must be in Word 2003, Word 2007, or Adobe PDF. No other formats will be accepted.
• Information required in each submission email must include:
o Name
o Address
o Phone Number
o Email Address
o Word Count
o Category
o How you heard about the contest
• All fees must be paid via Pay Pal at time of submission.
• Entries exceeding word count or that do not follow these guidelines may disqualified and entry fee forfeited. TAG Publishing reserves the right to combine categories if fewer than ten entries are received for a particular category.
• All authors authorize that by submitting to this contest that their manuscripts are completely
original and unpublished works created and owned solely by the author.
• Winners will be announced on April 15th on our web site and all winning authors notified via
email and/or by phone.
