Colorado Press Women is proud to announce the 2011 High School Communications Contest. Work eligible for the 2011 statewide competition must be published between Feb. 15, 2010, and Feb. 15, 2011.
Students compete in 17 categories: Editorial, Opinion, News Story, Feature Story, Sports Story, Column, Feature Photo, Sports Photo, Cartooning, Reviews, Graphics/Photo Illustration, Single-Page Layout, Double-Truck Layout, Environment, Video News Story, Video Feature Story and Video Sports Story.
Judges: Professional working journalists, editors, photographers, videographers and graphic artists will judge entries and often provide written critiques.
Recognition: award certificates for first, second and third-place winners; award for the high school with the most winning entries (weighted for placement). First-place entries are entered in the national contest; first-place national winners receive $100 in addition to a certificate and an invitation to the awards luncheon during the national convention in September 2011 in Omaha, Neb., and Council Bluffs, Iowa.
