Vacancy: Senior Web Editor for Oprah.com (New York)

The senior web editor is responsible for extending the O Magazine print brand to the web on Oprah.com as well as growing readership and engagement.

Duties include:

1. Manage monthly magazine content rollout: write web-friendly display and SEO copy, make assignments to producers, review pages

2. Write/edit promotional copy for magazine landing pages and newsletters

3. Attend magazine ideas meetings and liaise with print editors to generate web extras

4. Manage social media marketing efforts for the magazine

5. Oversee web staff, including Junior web editor and freelance producers; recruit and supervise interns

6. Package content, per the Oprah.com editorial calendar

7. Pitch ideas to fill content holes, including creative ways to re-package print content as well as web exclusives

8. Liaise with homepage producer to surface best performing magazine content in a timely manner

9. Track/report metrics and program accordingly

10. Track/report site needs; work with Oprah.com project managers to fix bugs and review plans for site enhancements, including wireframes

Ideal requirements

- 5-7 years online editorial and/or marketing experience

- Interwoven TeamSite or comparable CMS experience

- Solid understanding of web metrics; Omniture experience preferred

- Strong promotional copy-writing skills; homepage or cover-line writing, a plus

- Depth of knowledge in women's lifestyle verticals, especially relationships, style, and health

Required Skills
