Alloy Entertainment is a creative think tank that develops and produces original books, television series, and feature films. The company generates unique commercial entertainment properties-often with an eye toward teens, young adults, and families-and partners with leading publishers, television networks, and movie studios to deliver its properties to the world. Alloy Entertainment produces approximately thirty new books a year, which are published in more than twenty-five languages around the world. In 2009 and 2010, more than twenty-five of Alloy Entertainment's books reached the New York Times Best Sellers list. Its best-selling franchises include The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, The Clique, The Luxe, Private, and The A-List.

Alloy Entertainment is seeking an Editor (all levels will be considered) in New York, NY with experience in commercial book publishing. While we have specific interest in editors with teen and children's fiction experience, we are open to a range of expertise. The ideal candidate is constantly thinking of new ideas, has some understanding of story-structure, brainstorms well in group settings and enjoys working on manuscripts on both a big picture and line-by-line basis.

Responsibilities:

The editor will be responsible for overseeing approximately ten titles a year. The editor will also be responsible for generating, developing and writing new ideas for books, television, and film, and should be able to recruit new authors. The editor will have primary contact with authors, agents and publishers and should have current relationships with all.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree. 2 - 8 years editorial experience. (YA experience is not required.)
