Call for Papers - At the Border: Transformation and Transition in Contemporary Feminism

Post date: 24 December 2010
Deadline: 31 January 2011

Women's and Gender Studies Call for Proposals

The Women’s and Gender Studies Program invites proposals for its biennial conference on April 1. Entitled At the Border: Transformation and Transition in Contemporary Feminism, this one-day conference will present scholarly and creative work by feminist activists, visual and performing artists, writers and scholars who explore the many ways the concept of borders and border crossings informs contemporary feminist discourse.

All proposals will be reviewed by Oakton's Women’s and Gender Studies Steering Committee and will be selected based on appropriateness of topic, quality of proposal and contribution to Women’s and Gender Studies scholarship and creative endeavors. Special attention will be paid to proposals that feature intersectional and multidisciplinary approaches and/or inclusion of presenters from faculty, artist and student groups.

The deadline for proposals is January 31, 2011. Notification of proposal status will be sent via e-mail no later than February 15, 2011.
