Program Assistant (Permanent Part Time)
Program Assistant position at WWIN, an award winning Eastside (Bellevue) nonprofit organization serving low income women. This part time hourly position (18 hours per week, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays) will work closely with the Program Manager in administering grants for education and health care to low income women throughout Washington. Major Duties
Review detailed written applications, conduct telephone interviews to assess eligibility, meet in-office with grant recipients to explain and award grants. Related administrative work includes reviewing and approving grant expenditures, interacting with service providers, substantial database entry (ETO), creating Excel spreadsheets to analyze grant usage, and updating WWIN website.
Essential Requirements
College degree, preferably with a focus on psychology, social work or similar. At least 2 years experience working with low income populations and/or women, including demonstrated ability to work positively on a one-to-one basis with clients. High level communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in small office or team environment. Skilled in database usage and proficient with Microsoft Word applications. Not afraid of arithmetic and/or number crunching! Commitment to WWIN mission.
Preferred Qualifications
Although this is not a case management position, counseling, social work or case management experience is highly desirable. Experience working with volunteers. Nonprofit experience. Demonstrated commitment to the betterment of our communities.
Note: Any offer subject to a satisfactory credit check and criminal background check. Hourly rate $13-$15 DOE; vacation, holiday and sick leave provided on a pro-rata basis. This position is not eligible for medical benefits.
