Open to anyone over 16 who is a resident of York Region
Topic: Family - A Memoir (real or imagined)
Length: 750 words maximum
Deadline: February 15, 2011 - $$$ Cash prizes
Winning story to be printed in The Era and The Banner

(CFUW Aurora/Newmarket members and employees of the York Region News Group and their immediate families may not enter.)
Contest Rules:
• Entrants must reside in York Region, and be sixteen years of age or over.
• Members of CFUW and their immediate family members, employees of the York Region Media Group
and their immediate family members, judges and their immediate family members are ineligible.
• Submitted material must be original and unpublished.
• All entries must be written on a computer or typewriter, double-spaced, and no more than 750 words.
• The title and the word count must be printed on the front page of the story.
• The author’s name must not appear on the manuscript.
• The author’s name, address, and telephone number must be on the separate entry form/cover page. The title and the word count must also be included on the cover page.
• Entries are limited to one per author.
• Entries must be mailed or dropped off. Fax or emailed entries will not be accepted.
• Manuscripts will not be returned, but the writer retains all rights to his/her story.
• The winning entrant will be contacted by telephone.
• The winning entrant must be willing to have his/her story published, in whole or in part, in The Era/The Banner and on the yorkregion.com website.
• The winning entrant must be willing to have his/her name, photograph and biographical information published with his/her story.
