Jewish Women’s Theatre is accepting submissions of one-act plays or monologues by female playwrights to be read in the Jewish Women’s Theatre’s April At-Homes Salon Series. The evening is entitled: Eden According to Eve, and all the pieces should be adapted from a classic Jewish folktale or bible story, imbued with a feminine perspective, constructed with a female main character (even if the original is male), and set today.
Criteria:
- Three or fewer characters
- For a play: 10 minutes maximum, shorter preferred
- For a monologue: 5 minutes maximum, shorter preferred
- Female lead
- Set today
- Material must be adapted from a bible story OR classical Jewish folktale
Pieces chosen will be read April 4, 5, & 6 during the regular season of Jewish Women’s Theatre At-Homes Salon Theatre, a contemporary version of salons—entertainment in an intimate setting where audience and artists join for live theatre and lively discussion.
