Apply for the Pentagon Project $500 Book Scholarship (for women of African descent)

The Pentagon Project is a non-profit organization focused on liberating women of African descent from financial hardship through scholarships, resources, and opportunities. The Pentagon Project was founded by four Tennessee State Alumnae - Evelyn J. Shropshire, Fredrica M. Piphus, Marsheila J. Hayes, & Sherrae M. Hayes.

The Pentagon Project will accept applications beginning Monday, November 29th and ending Monday, January 31st.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Open to Black female, full-time, 1st – 4th year undergraduates at Tennessee State University.
* A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
* Minimum of 10 hours of community service.
* One recommendation (recommendation may be from a faculty/staff member,community leader, or supervisor).
* One official transcript (from TSU Records Office - postmarked by Friday, January 28th)
* 250-500 word response to essay prompt on application.
