Female Article/ Literary Writers Wanted for Memo Magazine

Post date: 10 July 2011
Calling all passionate literary, fashion, culture writers, artists, and photographers. MEMO is a print and digital book-mag launching this October and we are looking for contributors and literary submissions from poets, fiction writers, photographers and artists.

Our first issue is themed The First Draft -- the seed of an idea that evolved into something bigger than you, the first stages of life before metamorphosis and however else you want to look at it and be inspired by the theme. Artists, photographers, fiction writers, and poets we welcome your first drafts and unfinished works along with a short essay on your creative process and bio.

We also have a special section on Women & Work -- how far have we come, what's the reality of the commitments, sacrifices and choices that many women still have to make in the workplace and at home with family at every stage of life? How has our social sphere changed -- we're looking for European women, Latin America, US stories, and Asia and Africa as well. Submit your essay, commentary, fiction piece and tell us your story -- man or woman. We have a few slots for our "community" section where we select from the best work submitted and will notify you upon receipt. Also looking for humorists on the subject.

We're also in need of the following:

Fiction, Poetry, Art & Photography: We publish a select number of fiction, poetry, art works and photo journal stories in each issue. We encourage your submissions as fleshed out as possible, with a max of 1200 words along with a bio. Essays and Commentary also welcome. Photographers please submit your photo journal, along with a brief description to us at a max of 6-8 images.

Short form fashion reporters who can work on assignment also welcome. Stylists please pitch us your stories, along with proposed photographer, location, and page count. We prefer fleshed out ideas for fashion sittings. Must have previously published (in print fashion magazine) sittings work to apply.
