Editor Wanted for New Food-Focused Site (Abrams Media, NY)

Post date: 19 February 2012
Abrams Media is looking to hire a Managing Editor for our soon-to-be-launched chef-focused site. Candidates should be obsessed with food and restaurant culture, watch the Food Network religiously, and know the name and resume of every celebrity chef by heart. We are looking for a strong writer who is as excited by the idea of working in a fast-paced, new media environment as they are by the season premiere of Top Chef. Experience is less important than ability.

Our editors and reporters are responsible for writing, assigning and editing stories, and for working with the editor-in-chief to keep the site humming along on a day to day basis. You should have a clear understanding of social media, viral videos, and how to create high quality, opinionated, and shareable content.

To apply:

Email a resume and short note explaining why you're suited for the position to the Craigslist address below. Make sure the subject line reads "Food Editor". Please include links to articles you've written, as well as a link to your blog if you have one.

Abrams Media is based in SoHo, NY, and publishes seven different websites: Mediaite, a media news website; Geekosystem, a site devoted to tech and geek culture; Styleite, which covers beauty and fashion; Sportsgrid, which follows sports and sports-related media; Gossip Cop, a site devoted to policing the celebrity gossip industry; The Mary Sue, a site for female geeks; and The Jane Dough, a site that examines the business world through the female prism. Our CEO, Dan Abrams, is the on-air Legal Analyst for ABC News and the former General Manager of MSNBC.
