Feminist and Women's Studies Association Annual Book Prize (UK/ Ireland./ worldwide)

The FWSA is a UK-based network promoting feminist research and teaching, and women’s studies nationally and internationally. Through its elected executive committee, the FWSA is involved in developing policy on issues of central importance to feminist scholars in further and higher education, supporting postgraduate events and enabling feminist research.

Committed to raising awareness of women’s studies, feminist research and women-related issues in secondary and tertiary education, the FWSA liaises regularly with other gender-related research and community networks as well as with policy groups.

ANNUAL BOOK PRIZE

The FWSA 2012 book prize aims to recognize innovative and interdisciplinary scholarship that is and grounded in feminist theory and practice. The competition is open to scholars who were employed, postgraduate students at, or associated with a British or Irish University or research organisation between 1st January 2009 and 31st December 2011. Nominated books must be monographs or textbooks and published in English. We welcome single or jointly authored contributions. Edited collections and reprints of earlier editions are not eligible. Books must be first published between 1st January 2011 and 31st December 2011; they do not have to have a UK publisher.

The award is now kindly supported by Palgrave Macmillan. Applications are already open for this year’s Book Prize are open.
