Warner Bros. Television Writers' Workshop

The Workshop is open for submissions May 2-June 1, 2011. Submissions must be postmarked by June 1, 2011 to be eligible. Writers may submit a maximum of two scripts. Writing samples will not be returned. To qualify for the program, you cannot have been staffed on a primetime cable or network show. No recommendation letters, please.


Once you have completed the online application, you will need to submit by mail everything listed below to be considered for acceptance into the Workshop.

Submission Requirements Details

1. Writing Sample

* A half-hour or hour writing sample based on a primetime network or cable series that aired new episodes during the 2010-2011 television season. Original material will not be accepted in the submission period, but may be required in the final round of consideration.

* The front cover page of your script must include all of the following:

o Name of the series

o Episode title

o Writer(s) name(s)

+ Writing teams: Make sure the order of your names is always consistent (on scripts and applications)

o Writer contact information (address, phone number and email)

o Confirmation number: This number will be assigned to your script at the end of the online submission process

* Writing samples must be typed and presented single sided in script format with brad bindings.

* Applicants are limited to two writing samples per year.

* A short composition, no longer than a page, double spaced, 12 font, telling us why you want to be a television writer and how your background will add a unique perspective to television.

4. Payment

* A non-refundable $30 application fee per script.

o Checks or money orders should be payable to Warner Bros. TV

o Cash will not be accepted.
