Lifelong learning memoirs & Non Fiction
In education, we teach our students to become “lifelong learners”. What does this mean exactly? To Ravenrock this means that you’ve taken opportunities throughout your life to learn new things. Whether you are a teen, young adult, adult, or senior, if you have or are learning a new skill that has led you to some interesting stories, we want to hear about them. These books are not necessarily “how to” books, but books that chronicle your journey and change (whether life changing or simply life enhancing) while learning something new.
Ravenrock Publishing is interested in non-fiction work that describes, instructs, enhances, or informs readers. Whether you’ve written a delightful cookbook or golf instruction book, or amazing family or personal history story, we are interested in seeing what will fit in our line.
How to submit your work to Ravenrock Publishing Company:
Acquisition only
Ravenrock Publishing is an acquisition-only publishing company. We do not have a self-publishing line. All titles are reviewed and approved by our team and published in the appropriate genre.
To query
Please submit a one-page cover letter with one page synopsis as an attachment via email to info@ravenrockpublishing.com or by regular mail post (please request mailing address via email). Do not submit completed manuscripts.
Second contact
When Ravenrock Publishing Inc. would like to see more of your work, we will request the first three chapters of your work. Please follow author guidelines for all submissions. Microsoft word .doc or docx or Adobe PDF, 1 inch margins on all sides, double space, Times, Courier, or Times New Roman 12 pt. font only.
Third contact: submission
If you are contacted to submit your final draft, please follow author guidelines. Acceptance of final draft may be followed with contract to publish.
Artwork
Ravenrock has an excellent in house artist; however, if your work requires specific photos, graphs, drawings, etc., please submit as .jpg files in a separate file. Ravenrock will complete all final formatting. Cover designs are at the discretion of the publisher with approval from author.
Publishing
Ravenrock’s first line of publication of your book is as an electronic book: EPUB format for iBooks for iPad & iPod, Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony Reader, Adobe Digital Editions, Stanza, Ibis Reader, Lucidor and others. Submission to Kindle is in DTP format. Ravenrock will format, upload, and handle all electronic publication details and functioning. Hard copy books will follow initial electronic publication by approximately eight (8) weeks. Distribution of hard copy books is dependent on demand and electronic rankings. Print on demand services is available on initial print dependent upon the project.
Royalties
Authors will receive royalties based on an average traditional rating scale and negotiated by contract. Ravenrock is not offering advances on royalties at this time.
