Call for Chapter Books/ Series for Girls: Lobster Press (Canada)

Post date: 11 March 2011
Lobster Press publishes high-quality fiction and nonfiction books for children, tweens, teens, and their families. Our publishing program includes board books, picture books, chapter books, and nonfiction books for all ages. We are currently only accepting submissions from Canadian authors (including permanent residents of Canada) at this time. We are only able to accept English-language submissions at this time.

Due to the high number of submissions we receive, Lobster Press only responds to queries if we are interested in your work. Please do not contact us about the status of unsolicited manuscripts. We try to respond to submissions that interest us within three to six months.

NEW EDITORIAL CALL:

Lobster Press is currently soliciting original submissions for chapter books appealing to readers aged 7-9. We especially seek a series that will appeal to girls.

We continue to be interested in manuscripts for readers aged 9-12 and young adult readers (14+). We would like to see comedy, chick lit, mystery, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and post-apocalyptic/dystopian submissions. We are especially interested in hockey-themed submissions.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Mailed submissions will not be considered. Send your submission by email only to LobsterPressSubmissions@gmail.com. Simultaneous submissions will be accepted, on the condition that it is clearly stated in your cover letter that another publisher is considering your work. Multiple submissions of up to five manuscripts are welcome.

Clearly indicate the genre of your submission in the Subject Line. Use 12-point Times New Roman black font and include the following information in the body of the message for all submissions (please do not send attachments as they will not be opened):

* Cover letter, with current contact information (including email address)
* CV/Bio that includes previous writing credits, if any
