AKOO Clothing Brand is looking for versatile freelance writers to help with our blog where we feature fashion trends, music reviews, global news, gossip, and tech lifestyle gadgets. We're expanding our team and would like to bring on new talented individuals into our social media family.
7 content category descriptions we are recruiting bloggers to cover:
• The Cultural Connector: Did you see? Have you heard? Have you read? Don’t go head to head in a game of trivia with AKOO’s resident culture vulture, who will always out-Simpsons quote you and knows the secrets behind the latest MC dis' records. He/She is our red carpet personality, gossip guru, party host and music/ movie critic all in one.
• Digital Gentleman: This well-appointed blogger has a penchant for pretty tech. Expect to see him/her relaxing in his/her Herman Miller, sipping a nice tumbler of whiskey, and perusing the newest issue of WIRED on his/her leather-encased iPad. Digital emergency? Our expert will tell you what's hot and what’s not in the world of technology. Questions about the newest Android phone, tablet and mobile application, this expert is your go to person. He/She always knows which piece of hardware will make your life easier—and more fun.
• Food Brotha: Kiss your average sunny-side ups goodbye. This mad scientist-meets-foodie will cryo gun your cocktails, sous vide your chops, and explain the tech behind biodynamic wine. Need to know where all the fliest restaurants and mixology bars are in your town? He's/She’s your go to expert! He/She always knows the best places to take your lady for food and drinks.
• Thrill Seeker: Marathons are for suckers. Try climbing Kilimanjaro. This fan of extremes can swim a Polar Bear Challenge before you finish breakfast, and has an arsenal of tech tools at his disposal that will tell you how many calories he/she burned and how much REM sleep he’ll/she’ll need to recover. Wanna know if p90x really works? He's/She’s our expert. He's/She’s our source for health, fitness and adventure.
Each writer will be assigned one of the categories listed above. Each category and writer will be assigned a day of the week (Cultural Connector blogs on Monday, Digital Gentleman on Tuesday, etc.), and you would be responsible for writing 3 (approx. 100 word) posts per day, in addition to 5-10 Twitter/Facebook messages per day.
Our ideal applicant:
• Loves AKOO Clothing Brand and is knowledgeable about our brand and founder.
• Has a strong interest in fashion, music, design and technology.
• Ravenously consumes news of all sorts (local, national and global news, gossip, entertainment, etc...)
• Has a strong affinity to at least 2-3 of the insider personalities
• Has the ability to modify his/her writing voice to transform believably from character to character. Think like a chameleon.
• Has experience meeting deadlines, pitching stories and writing on a regular basis
How do you apply?
• In addition to your resume and cover letter, please send an email listing which Insiders you’d like to write for. Additionally, please include:
o A 100-150 word sample post (including accompanying image or video) for each of the Insiders you’d like to write for.
