Along with content partners such as Marie Claire, Weight Watchers, Wenn, Match and Daily Makeover, the channel provides everything a woman needs to look good and feel great.

An aspirational channel, MSN Life & Style is all about helping women to be the best they can be. We don’t criticise those who put on weight one week and lose it the next. Rather, we celebrate inspirational women and inspire our readers to do the same.

MSN Life & Style is all about creating and curating engaging interactive content using the best mix of editorial and multimedia alongside innovative use of social media tools. Websters is now looking for a Deputy Editor to join our editorial and production team on the site under the direction of the Content Manager.

We are looking for someone with at least three years’ experience working in a full-time role in the lifestyle women’s sector, with a keen interest in all of our subchannels, but particularly Health and Relationships. A big contacts book is essential, as are bags of enthusiasm, plenty of ideas and a keen eye for accuracy. Excellent subbing skills are a must. The role is full-time and based in Microsoft’s offices in Victoria.

Skills and attributes

* Significant editorial experience, preferably online
* Excellent writing and copy editing skills
* Creative thinker, self-starter and problem solver
* Working knowledge of CMSs and Photoshop
* Experience of writing and commissioning in the fields of Health, Relationships, Fashion & Beauty
* Analytical skills
* Interest in social media and multimedia
* Enthusiasm for using technology and learning new tools
* Personal and professional integrity
* Journalism qualification advantageous

Tasks and responsibilities include

* Working with the other members of the team to ensure the site is current, error-free and engaging every day
* Managing an annual, monthly and weekly plan to deliver timely and creative content
* Collaborating with the Content Manager on the ongoing development and promotion of the site and deputising for the Content Manager where necessary
* Working with the Content Manager to produce effective short-, medium- and long-term strategies for the site
* Ensuring that MSN’s commercial partners are properly represented throughout the site
* Brainstorming, managing and delivering commercial features for a substantial list of advertisers
* Driving the team to ensure the channel hits audience and commercial targets each month
* Effective and accurate measurement of targets using stats tools
* Writing feature articles that are relevant, timely and interesting to MSN users
* Commissioning, editing and uploading feature articles
* Contributing to the use of multimedia (such as video and graphics) on the site
* Contributing to the team’s blogs and social media presence
* Monitoring users’ feedback and, wherever appropriate, acting on it
* Monitoring competitor activity
