Bi-weekly and weekly workshops for women interested in writing as a Spiritual and Creative Practice beginning Tuesday, March 8.
Grailville’s Spring Poetry Workshop for Women will be held bi-weekly Tuesday evenings, March 8 – May 3, 2011 from 7:00- 9:00 pm. Optional craft workshops are also available on alternate Tuesdays, 7-8:30 pm
The Practice of Poetry is based on the belief that all the things that make good poetry—paying attention to the interaction of our inner lives and the outer world, making time for reflection, nurturing supportive relationships, honest assessment of what works and what doesn’t, careful discernment as to what we keep and what we let go—are also the things that keep us healthy and whole.
Each bi-weekly workshop session includes instruction in the art and craft of poetry, writing time and opportunities for participants to share what thy have written. Sessions provide opportunities for writing and sharing with other women as well as guidance in the art and craft of poetry. The optional Poetry Craft Sessions held on alternate Tuesdays are opportunities to give and receive constructive feedback on poems.
What other women have said:
o “I really enjoy the classes. I like the variety and the suggestions and writing times to play with creativity.”
o “I appreciate most the loving kindness of the group.”
o “I have felt growth in my willingness to “re-vision” poems from the content and feedback I received in the session.”
o “I have found contentment with my poetry classes and retreats at Grailville and will keep them a priority in my life.”
