A call for short stories dealing with cooking and food for use in an anthology to come out next fall.
If you have a short story about cooking or food - or can WRITE one - that could be included in an anthology about Cooking from Scratch that will also include recipes, please submit it. We are looking, of course, for your best work.
Rules
1. The story must have a cooking / food theme.
2. The maximum length is 5,000 words.
3. It must be your original writing and you must certify that it is.
4. If your story is chosen for inclusion in the anthology, you will receive a flat payment of $25 and three copies of the book.
5. You will retain future rights after publication.
6. Work must be double spaced in a standard 12 point font (Times New Roman is preferable).
7. Mail your story with a brief (75 word max) biography on a separate page to

8. Include a self-addressed postcard to acknowledge receipt of your manuscript if you wish.
9. Notification will be made by email. Manuscripts will not be returned.
10. Deadline is March April 30, 2011.
11. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, email address and title on the first page.
12. This contest is open to anyone over the age of 13 (with parent's or guardian's permission for minors). Please let your writing friends know of the contest
also.
13. We are not interested in horror or science fiction pieces for this anthology.
14. If we decide to publish your story, we will ask for an electronic submission.
15. Rather than writing memoir and trying to make it absolutely accurate, please turn your story into fiction and then take liberties with the story to make
it more compelling.
16. Please notify us if you are submitting to multiple publications, and if your story will be printed elsewhere please let us know immediately.
17. If your story is accepted, you will receive notification within 30 days after the end of the submission period.
