The CityGuide is an interactive, intuitive site supported by SheKnows.com, the leading women's website in the world. The Guide provides readers with local business suggestions related to their activity interests. The CityGuide Editor should be creative, willing to find new ways to execute and achieve objectives, work well within a high-paced environment and be able to perform duties with little to no senior direction.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all internal teams at SheKnows to deliver a flawless final product that meets and exceeds all internal and external expectations.
This is a full-time, in-office position; available immediately at the Scottsdale, AZ office location.
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Oversee all daily and long term content strategy activities related to the SheKnows CityGuide
* Deliver flawless city-specific content that upholds our high editorial standards, follows SEO best practices and provides a platform from which to grow the CityGuide application
* Manage freelance writers and contractors, copy editing and formatting as necessary
* Create relationships with tourism groups and convention and visitors' bureaus
* Maintain quality control of new and existing content, as well as any and all content requests related to the CityGuide
* Manage new projects within CityGuide from start to finish while collaborating with design, development and other teams
* Bring fresh, innovative ideas to the SheKnows audience and both initiate and oversee site improvements and enhancements
Requirements & Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree, preferably journalism, marketing, mass communication, public relations
* 3 year of experience in the online media industry or magazine publishing
* Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Accurate and timeliness of work performed and strong interaction with departmental staff, sales force and other departments
* Ability to juggle numerous projects at once under deadline pressure
* Must be organized and deadline oriented
* Experience or knowledge of web development is a strong plus
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
* Experience in any CMS, Macromedia Fireworks or Photoshop will be a big plus!
