The Worcester chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Colonel Timothy Bigelow Chapter, is sponsoring an essay contest for middle school students in fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
Essays for the contest should be titled “Memoirs of Paul Revere,” and written in the voice of Paul Revere describing the accomplishments for which he wishes to be remembered. The theme was chosen for 2010 because this year marks the 275th anniversary of Paul Revere’s birth.
For more information, contact Charlotte Higgins at 508-393- 8065 or constable35@aol.com. The deadline to submit an essay is Monday, Nov. 22.
