Writers Wanted: SingleWomenRule.com Opens for Pitches

Post date: 13 October 2010
At SingleWomenRule.com, we think there’s room in this large internet world for a little variety, so in the middle of listening to your suggestions for a better site, we’re inviting writers to send freelance pitches and submissions.

Submission Guidelines

SingleWomenRule.com is a news and lifestyle site for unmarried women reveling in life’s magic, whether or not they’re “in a relationship”. We are currently accepting pitches for your empowering original content, including but not limited to, news, feature stories, first-person essays, profiles, arts reviews, and opinion pieces. Feature stories should be of interest to a women’s audience. We’re looking for stories about real ladies living extraordinary single lives worldwide. While we occasionally write about relationships and dating, we don’t take the “how to get and keep a man” approach but rather the “how to make yourself the best you, so you can attract the best” angle.

Please read the site before pitching. Submit your pitch, with the subject line “EDITORIAL SUBMISSIONS” via e-mail to editorial [at] singlewomenrule.com

Word length:

First person essays, opinion pieces, feature stories: 600 – 900 words
Arts reviews, profiles: 500 – 700 words

Please submit the complete piece for first-person essays, and opinion pieces. For reporting, arts reviews, please send a one-page query. Send the text of your query or submission in plain text in the body of your e-mail, not as an attached file. Tell us your writing experience, background, and qualifications for writing for a particular story. Include links to online clips, if any. If you have never been published, please submit your complete piece, regardless of topic.

Allow four weeks for a response to your inquiry.
