Essay question: “What qualities do you have that you believe will make you successful in business?”
Dr. Trudy Eagan, a New Brunswick native, attended StFX prior to establishing her career. In 1999, she received an Honourary Degree from StFX to honour her success in business and her extensive volunteer work. It is important to Dr. Eagan to utilize some of the wealth she has acquired through her successes to encourage and support the education of women in the field of business. The Trudy Eagan Award has been awarded annually since 2000.
The Trudy Eagan Award is awarded to:
(1) female students currently enrolled in their fourth year of study at StFX in the BBA or BIS programs or their equivalents; preference may be given to students from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland;
(2) students whose academic performance in their third year at StFX was an average of 75% or greater;
(3) students who demonstrate determination and perseverance and stand out as people who have had a positive impact on their classmates and the program. This award is made to students who have made a difference at StFX;
(4) preference is given to students who also demonstrate financial need;
(5) applicants who attach a 250-500 word essay answering the following question: “What qualities do you have that you believe will make you successful in business?”; and
(6) applicants who complete and submit the attached application by 12 noon, Monday October 25, 2010 Room 383 Schwartz School.
