I will be launching a Christian website/webzine/blog within the next several months. The focus of the site will be on encouraging women and providing fun ideas and useful resources for everyday life.

One of the features of the site will be a weekly column in which around a dozen women will write for on a rotational schedule. If someone would like to contribute 1 time only, that is fine, but I am primarily looking for women who would like to write a few times a year. The posts will need to be inspirational in nature.

I am looking for "real" women here... That is, imperfect women with imperfect pasts and imperfect lives who have a desire to encourage other women through the telling of their life experiences. I want to give wings to the stories of real women facing real challenges.

If this is of interest to you, I ask that you send me a message with the following information:
1. Your age (or age range, if you feel uncomfortable disclosing that)
2. Your primary state/region of residence (or country, if residing outside of the United States).
3. Why you wish to be a contributor.
4. A bit about your background (Are you single? Married? Do you have kids? Do you have a career outside of the home? What makes you unique? What life challenges have you experienced? Etc...)
5. A writing sample, which may be copied/pasted from a blog post, school paper, etc. It does not need to be long, but it does need to show me that you having writing ability, acceptable grammar, etc. No, your writing does not need to be perfect and I will help some with revising/editing, but you do need to be able to produce quality posts that won't have to be totally rewritten =)
6. Your testimony, that is, how you came to know the Lord and a bit about His work in your life.
7. How often you prefer to post (please select either 2 times per year, 3 times per year, 4 times per year, 5 times per year, 6 times per year, or 1 time only).

Applications littered with texting-type abbreviations will not be considered.

Application closing date: August 13, 2010. That would be a Friday the 13th! :P

The selection process may take up to 30 days and you will be notified via Facebook.

So, what do you get in exchange for donating your writing services to my site? Well, if you are a regular contributor (one who writes at least twice a year), your picture (unless you prefer it to not be shown) and a brief biography will be featured on a "contributor's page." Additionally, I will link to a site of your choosing (within reason!). So, if you have a website, etsy shop, or cause, this would be an excellent opportunity for some publicity for you. Also, whenever you post, I would include a link to your site directly from the post.

I will accept 2 ladies under the age of 18 as junior columnists! This would be a great opportunity to possibly earn some extra credit at school, or just to have a little something extra to put on applications for work, college, etc. =) If you are applying to be a junior columnist, please also include your year of graduation from high school and your post high school plans. Personal photos of junior columnists will not be shown and no link will be provided, due to legal reasons. Please seek parental consent before applying. If selected, you will be asked to post twice a year for the term of a mutually agreed upon "internship" period. Generally, this will extend to 1 year beyond your graduation from high school. You may be given the opportunity to stay on beyond that time frame as a full-fledged columnist. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply.

Additional terms will apply, which will be discussed in detail with you should you be accepted. If you have any questions or desire more detail, please feel free to message me!
