Meet the authors of 'Secrets of the Woman in the Suit'

Post date: 03 August 2010

Meet the authors and compiler of "Secrets of the Woman in the Suit," the Savannah-published inspirational volume for working women, on Friday, August 6 at 5:30 p.m. at thincspace, 35 Barnard Suite 300 Street downtown. Refreshments will be served.

"Secrets", which is fast becoming the city’s "little book that could," tells the stories of nine Savannah working women and obstacles they overcame to become respected, inspiring business and community leaders.

About the book

This book is different because it is a collection of stories from highly successful women being real about their struggles, families, dreams and hopes. It is written to inspire the ordinary woman to become extraordinary. As the orchestrator of the project, Sarahlyn U. Argrow has shared a personal chapter out of her life that most women in her position would not share. She hopes to motivate and inspire women to rise above their circumstances and grab another woman's hand in the process. The book is also unique because of the women who wrote the short stories. The women have shared some of their trials and triumphs solely for the hope they will deliver and set free women throughout the world; they are receiving no monetary rewards. This collaborative effort is a tribute to the generous nature of women all over the world. Inspired by Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball, Sarahlyn instituted the AWWIN Top Ten Working Women of the Year Awards in 2006 at their Annual Gala & Silent Auction.
