Call for Submissions: Purple Poetry Book (WAVE - Women Against Vi0lence Everywhere)

TurnAround, Inc. and WAVE is putting out a call for anyone who wants to submit Poetry about domestic/intimate partner/s3xual abus3.

This compilation of poems, short stories and artwork will be published at the Purple Poetry Book in honor of October which is domestic vi0lence awareness month. The Purple Poetry Book which will be published and sold at TurnAround, Inc. events for a small fee to help support TurnAround, Inc. and its continuing efforts to bring a stop to vi0lence against women in our community.


Each submission must include the following:

* Name of the poem
* Name of the Author
* Name the work should be published under (ie. Written by ButterflyBlue)
* Contact Number
* Contact Email
* 50 words or less about the author
* Would you be willing to perform your poem at the book launch party in October?

All works must be limited to two (2) pages- 12point, Times New Roman font. This must be submitted as a Word Document. Artwork must be black and white or grayscale and submitted as a JPEG, GIF or PNG file. Please note that all authors remain the copyright holders to their literary pieces. Please email submissions by September 28 to Mothyna James at mjames@turnaroundinc.org. TurnAround reserves the right to refuse any works that to do not fit within the scope of the project. All pieces selected for inclusion in the book will be confirmed via email within 3 weeks. Please note that all funds raised from the sale of this project will benefit TurnAround, Inc.

WAVE (Women Against Vi0lence Everywhere) is a volunteer group associated with TurnAround, Inc. TurnAround is a private non-profit that works to support victims of s3xual vi0lence in Baltimore City and County.
