Romantic Writer Wanted for a Fantasy Dating Game (rate: $25/ hour)

Post date: 22 March 2011
We are creating a fantasy dating game where players can go on simulated dates online. We are looking for a creative, charming, funny writer to write the copy for some of the dates as we test the concept.

If you think you would enjoy this kind of work please feel free to contact me at c.d.b.dating@gmail.com. Can you guess what C. D. B. stands for? The job will pay around $25 per hour.

Below are some not so great examples of the kind of copy we are looking for (I am sure you will be able to do much better):

Evening at the Top of the Mark

The elevator doors open on the top floor of the Mark Hopkins Hotel. You step out into a softly lit lounge occupying the entire top floor. Couples sip cocktails, faces aglow in candle light. They sit back in plush lounge chairs and lean in to chat across candle lit tables with white table cloths. Behind them the city sparkles. You catch your breath as you take in the stunning view through panoramic floor to ceiling windows. You gaze down at the golden Gate Bridge with its amber lights, Coit Tower ablaze in white light, Alcatraz Island, the Ferry Builidng, the skyscrapers downtown, and the San Francisco hills. A pianist softly plays jazz. The music mixes pleasantly with the chatter and laughter in room.

Mark hasn’t arrived yet so you take a seat at the bar and order a drink while you wait for him to get here...

Chance encounter in Paris

You are in Paris for a few days for a friend’s wedding. You are staying with the wedding party at the Hotel Saint Germain. The ceremony isn’t till late this afternoon. You decide to take a stroll around the charming neighborhood.

The there isn’t a cloud in the brilliant blue sky. As you walk you feel the warmth of the sun on your face. Home feels a million miles away. You are relaxed and happy to have this time off.

You decide to stop for coffee and a bite at the famous Cafe des Deux Magots. You take a seat at a sidewalk table. Your gaze dreamily wanders taking in the passersby. Your thoughts drift sweetly.

An English voice stirs you from your reverie. A *gentleman* politely asks if he might join you. The face looks familiar but you have not met before. You say sure, eager to make a new acquaintance. *He* sits and the conversation flows effortlessly...
