AWARD

The Croly Award will be presented on June 15, 2012, at the GFWC Annual Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash award and airfare/expenses to attend and speak at the Convention.

JUDGES

A judging panel of prominent journalists, editors, and leaders connected with national women’s organizations will review entries to select an overall winner whose submission (print, broadcast, or online) demonstrates a concern for the rights and advancement of women in our society; an awareness of women’s sensitivity, strength, and courage; and/or an attempt to counteract existing sexism.

o Each entry must include the entry fee of $50; subsequent entries from the same individual are accepted at $35 each.

o A journalist may submit multiple entries, but each individual entry may only be submitted once.

o All news stories should contain byline of the entrant, name of news outlet, and date published.

o For online publications, original versions are identified as printed copies of articles where the printed copy contains byline of the entrant, name of publication, and date published in the body of the printed copy rather than as an adjustable printed footer.

o Entries must be postmarked by April 30, 2012.

o Winner will be notified by May 11, 2012.

o Award will be presented at the GFWC Annual Convention on Friday, June 15, 2012, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Winner will deliver an address of 10-15 minutes at the awards ceremony.
