Write for Yahoo's OMG, the World's Top Site for Entertainment News

Post date: 17 May 2011
Yahoo!’s omg!, the world’s top site for entertainment news, is looking for fresh voices to write about individual celebrities – to provide the kind of depth and authority and, yes, humor that only a true devotee can. (If you’ve already got a blog, even better; this is a great way to build your reputation and get your name out to a huge audience.)

Generally, we want snappy articles, around 300 to 500 words. You’ll publish them via the Yahoo! Contributor Network on your own time, from anywhere, and you can publish as many pieces as you want. Voice and authenticity are important; accuracy and proper grammar are essential. In other words: You gotta know how to write.

Take your pick of hundreds of stars at http://omg.yahoo.com/celebs. Your content could be used to help fill out the pages of, say, Brad Pitt or Lady Gaga – or maybe Aziz Ansari is more your speed.

Everything you publish will earn money based on its traffic (and those residuals can really add up if your piece is a hit). Timely pieces written with the right flair could be promoted on omg!’s homepage or even the Yahoo! homepage, reaching a potential audience of millions.

Did we mention that the performance pay is generally on top of a modest upfront payment?

Here’s how it works:

* Sign up with the Yahoo! Contributor Network using the link below. When you fill out your profile, make sure to note your areas of expertise, and previous writing experience (if any). If you look especially promising, you’ll be contacted personally.
* Check the Assignment Desk; an assignment based on this job ad will be waiting for you. (A link to the assignment will also be emailed to you.)
* Claim that assignment, along with any others that appeal to you. You can also start submitting articles on topics of your choice.
* You'll begin earning money as soon as you're published. Each article you publish will continue earning money for you indefinitely, for as long as it gets traffic. Payments are processed daily by PayPal.
