Job Opening: Food Writer for The Local Dish

Post date: 23 May 2011
Seeking food writers interested in thinking local!

The Local Dish is a community connected and nourished by food. If you've ever cooked for someone else, eaten at a friend's house or a restaurant, or set foot in a farmer's market, you're a part of it.

We're looking for passionate writers who want to share their local food experiences, and the people and places that make their region unique--everything from your favorite restaurant and bakery to sustainable farms, new hot spots, local producers, and delis--if it has to do with growing, cooking, and eating food, join us and bring your local food community to life on The Local Dish!

We're currently seeking writers for Eugene, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, and Southern Oregon, including surrounding regional areas (for example; Everett, Edmonds, Eastern Washington, Southern Oregon, Medford, Ashland, Eugene, Willamette Valley, Berkeley, Napa Valley, Sonoma, etc.). Posts generally range from 250-500 words with compensation, including high quality photos. Ability to shoot 1-2 minute video with iPhone, Flip, or other handheld camera is highly prized. We provide in-house video editing!

Must have own transportation and be creative, curious, inquisitive and able to generate article ideas based on what is current, local, timely and fun!

Interested in becoming a "Disher"? Send email to editor(at)thelocaldish.com, subject line: Disher. Tell us a few reasons why, including 2-3 food photos, and 2 food-related writing samples.
