Call for Romance Short Stories: Masquerade Anthology (Dancing Fools Press)

Post date: 27 May 2011
What we're looking for: short stories based on the prompt "masquerade." Stories should be between 15,000 and 20,000 words, should fall under the romance category (as opposed to erotica), and must stand alone. Happy endings are preferred, although hopeful endings will be considered. The theme "masquerade" is flexible, but please feel free to contact us if you want to run an idea past us to make sure it fits the requirement.

We're also looking for a cover on the masquerade theme.

Please take a look at the information on the website that goes into more detail about what we're trying to do and what we will and won't publish, including genres.

If this is something that you want to be a part of (and we think it's going to be a lot of fun), here are some ground rules:

* No advance.
* Authors will split the author royalties evenly between them (prorated by final word count) and receive one print and two ebook contributor copies.
* All editing will be done via email and IM.
* Royalty payments will be made electronically via PayPal in US dollars, unless other arrangements need to be made.
* Finished story submission deadline: open until filled.

If you have any questions, or would like more information (about our contracts or anything else), please feel free to email us.

Guidelines:

1. In the body of your submission email, please include the following information:

* Author information (name, email, web site)
* Pseudonym?
* Have you been previously published (any format)?
* Are you eighteen years of age or older?
* Title
* Genre(s)
* Approximate word count
* Relationship type, if any
* Which anthology? (Masquerade)

2. The entire novella or short story.

3. No graphics or pictures.
