Call for Stories about Mothers: Handprints on My Heart Anthology

Post date: 28 April 2011
Deadline: 1 June 2011

I am Marlene Moore Gordon. I am compiling true, personal, uplifting short stories to create a unique anthology book series to be shared in multiple media, HandPrints On My Heart®. You do not have to be a professional writer, anyone can submit a story.

What differentiates HandPrints stories is the focus on one to one relationships about the key people who helped you become who you are today - the mentors, champions and heroes in your life. More than simply inspiring and uplifting, we are seeking stories that will motivate people to find one other person to help transform their life for the better. HandPrints stories will employ strong graphic elements including personal photographs, illustration and when in digital format, video and audio.

As a contributor to the Handprintonmyheart.com community, we will help you to promote your work, find tools and opportunities to build a strong platform and with time, add incremental income.

Your story with your bio, photos, and links to your website, blog, and other writing will be available and easily searchable on the handprints site. If you are published we will create a direct link to your sales page on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Any series – web, print or e-book - in which you participate will include your picture, contact information and links to the content of your choice. If your story is chosen for the print series, you will be paid a fee comparable to other established anthology book series. Since we know how frustrating it is to make creative submissions and be left in the dark, we will keep you updated as to the status of your story and its possible publication.

See NEW handprintsonmyheart.com for Guidelines, story themes, deadlines and submission details. We will also consider pre-published stories that have been tweaked to become a HandPrints story. We need to know where and when the story was published in order to make a decision. Again, please join our community. After reading our story guidelines if you have any questions or suggestions you may direct them to me personally at handprintsstories@gmail.com.
