SUBMIT YOUR FILM
LUNAFEST accepts film submissions from November 1st - April 1st annually. From amateur filmmakers to film students to aspiring indie stars, we look for filmmakers and producers from around the globe with unique short films by, for and about women!
If your film is chosen by our LUNAFEST Board of Advisors as a winning film, LUNA will award you $1,000. Additionally, your film will be shown at over 150+ venues nationwide at community benefit events.
FILM FORMAT AND SHIPPING
* Films accepted can be short documentaries, fiction or narratives.
* Student and international filmakers are especially encouraged to submit.
* Films should not exceed 20 minutes.
* Each entry must be submitted on a separate DVD.
* Foreign language film soundtracks must be in the original language with English subtitles.
With each entry, please include:
-Labeled DVD with your name, address, telephone number and film title
- $20 application fee by check or money order made out to the Breast Cancer Fund (no fee for international applicants; student fee: $15.00)
-If you'd like to pay by credit card you can do so directly through withoutabox (see below).

DEADLINES FOR SUBMISSION: All films must be postmarked by April 1, 2011.
OUR WINNING FILMS
* Winning films will be shown on DVD format and will not be returned. The films will be shown at up to 200 venues across the United States and Canada from October 2011 through June 2012.
* Festival copies of winning films and a press packet must be received no later than July 1, 2011.
JUDGING
Films will be judged by LUNAFEST staff members and the LUNAFEST Board of Advisors, a group of key film industry professionals and leaders of community organizations. Criteria include creativity, content and how the film fits the “By, For, About Women” theme. The film’s integrity and the dialogue generated among its viewers will also be rated.
ELIGIBILITY AND LICENSE
Clif Bar and Company and the Breast Cancer Fund employees, relatives, and sponsored athletes are prohibited from entering. Each film entrant agrees that by submitting an entry to LUNAFEST, Clif Bar and Company and the Breast Cancer Fund are granted, without compensation to the entrant and without any further approval or review, a non-exclusive, royalty free license to (1) show the entry at LUNAFEST events, and (2) use the name, picture, likeness and information about the entrant and the entry and its actors for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with LUNAFEST events, whether utilized in print or electronic media, television, video, film, radio, internet or other media.
