Circle of Moms is looking for talented writers to create great content for our soon-to-launch content hub. Apply by 2/17.

This is a paid gig and an amazing opportunity to expose your byline and blog (if you have one) to over 6 million registered moms.

Please apply if you meet the following four requirements:

-You have professional clips and/or a blog
-You have a deep interest in regularly writing about at least four of the parenting-related subject areas listed below
-You're willing to take direction from an editor and be flexible and responsive around strategy changes
-You have the skill and time to produce 3-4 well-written and researched short posts per week, unfailingly...

Please read the specifics below before applying.

Your application must include:

1. A list of 5 subject areas from the list below that you'd want to call your beats:

  • Kid & Family Activities (kid sports, afterschool activities, family outings, crafts, etc.)
  • Food & Recipes
  • Kids' Media Recommendations (TV, movies, books)
  • Toddlers
  • Parenting News (current events that impact families)
  • Family & Relationships
  • Preschoolers
  • Saving Money
  • Working Moms
  • Weight Loss/Exercise/Diet
  • Parenting Debates (hot topics among parents)
  • Siblings
  • Toys & Gear Reviews
  • Pregnancy
  • 21st Century Families (step families, blended families, single parenting, GLBT families, alternative family structures, etc.)
  • Babies
  • Big Kids
  • Special Needs (autism, ADHD, preemies, etc.)
  • Celebrity Moms
  • Twins and Multiples

2. One topical article that meets the following requirements:

- 350-700 words in length
- You choose the topic, but make sure it is highly relevant to one of the subject areas you've identified above as one of your potential beats.
- Your article should be informative and useful to moms interested in your beat (for instance, if your beat is autism, you write a tips piece on hosting a play date for an autistic child)
- You must use Circle of Moms as one of your primary sources. The topic you choose can come from your own life or be inspired by a conversation or comment you read in a relevant community, but either way, you must reference at least one Circle of Moms conversation, community, or comment, and ideally, directly quote some of the moms whose comments you find topical, interesting or informative. For example: (Again for the autism beat,) please find communities on Circle of Moms where moms talk about issues relating to raising an autistic child, and draw on their conversations in your article, using other moms for inspiration and/or a primary source.
- You may write in the first person and reference your personal experience if you like, or go with a pure reportorial style; either way, your viewpoint should be balanced. In other words, if you're covering a controversial issue, make sure you give air time to contrasting points of view.

3. Please also write or include one short post (150-200 words) sampled from your blog that meets the following requirements:
- 150-350 words in length
- You choose the topic, but make sure it is highly relevant to one of the subject areas you've identified above as one of your potential beats.
- Your first-person point of view/strong opinion is more than welcome here.

4. A link to your blog (if you have one), and/or two relevant professional clips

5. A link to your LinkedIn profile or resume

6. Optional: links to your Twitter feed and Facebook fan page.

7. Please include "Writer: YOUR NAME" in your email's subject line.
