Description: Writer, OnAir Creative: Nickelodeon Pre-School
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Writer, On-Air Creative, will develop, pitch, write best-in-class creative for launch campaigns, tune-in promotion and image work to support Nickelodeon Preschool’s television platforms as well as serve as an overall creative idea generator for the group. This position reports to Editorial Director of Nickelodeon Preschool Brand Creative.
Responsibilities
* •In partnership with Editorial Director, conceptualize and write scripts for promos, packaging and image work to air on Nickelodeon’s preschool block.
* •Create innovative, developmentally-appropriate curricular image work and brand communications to air on 24-hr preschool channel, Nick Jr.
* •Convey the attitude, editorial tone and value of the Nickelodeon Preschool brand in all pitches and scripts.
* •Brainstorm and discuss creative execution with Brand Creative Team, including Editorial Director, Director of Production, VP, Producers and Art Director.
* •Develop breakthrough creative that could migrate across a variety of platforms and media.
* •Meet with internal creative team and Programming to discuss new projects including goals, budgets and delivery date.
* •Work with Production/Project Management to stay within project budgets, timelines, etc.
* •Collaborate with producers during production to ensure that editorial is on target.
* •Screen episodes and/or shoot footage and know material for concept/script writing.
* •Push the creative bounds of traditional promotion and establish creative standards that result in building our brand and solidifying our relationship with the viewers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* •3+ years copywriting/brand communication experience from the entertainment or ad agency industry.
* •Excellent promotional writing, organizational and communications skills.
* •Strong understanding of relationship between the editorial and visual components of an on-air spot.
* •Ability to relate to a preschooler’s mindset & developmental level and to write parent-directed communications.
* •Awareness of the current children’s media landscape.
* •Production experience is a plus.
* •Ability to receive creative direction and feedback.
* •Strong understanding of the Nickelodeon brand, popular culture, kids entertainment and how it all interrelates.
* •Ability to juggle numerous projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
* •Strong business ethics.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* •Bachelor’s degree preferred.
* •Strong knowledge of humor and the ability to successfully execute on creative projects.
