Job Description

AmazonFresh, Amazon’s Seattle-area home grocery delivery pilot program, is looking for a passionate and entrepreneurial Senior Editor to manage and execute product merchandising for the AmazonFresh web site. The successful candidate will be passionate about food and cooking, as well as possess exceptional skills in project management and effective merchandising strategies. They will be detail-oriented and extremely organized, capable of handling multiple projects at once, able to take direction yet working autonomously, capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly-changing priorities, and comfortable working with teams, vendors, and management.

Besides having first-class written and verbal communication skills, the Senior Editor will be able to prioritize to meet deadlines, manage expectations and dependencies, and be able to analyze and show results with data. Technical requirements include HTML/XML and Excel, plus the ability to learn our in-house tools quickly. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience with online merchandising or web publishing. They will be innovative, motivated, self-directed, and willing to synthesize business and customer experience objectives into flawlessly executed online and email merchandising.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop, plan, coordinate and execute merchandising and editorial initiatives
* Publish and maintain a calendar of merchandising activities
* Write strong, copy, including irresistible calls to action for targeted audiences
* Analyze performance of content and email, always with an eye toward ways to improve
* Work with vendors and vendor managers to build selection and coordinate promotions
* Analyze traffic patterns and optimize for seasonality, relevance, and selection
* Drive site improvements to completion by coordinating with project managers, web developers, buyers, and creative designers

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree
* 5+ years of experience creating customer facing content
* Knowledge of HTML, XML, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

* A passion for food, cooking, or food merchandising
* Have a proven track record of writing customer-facing content that is on-brand, relevant, and tailored to the internet shopper (at least four years of online merchandising experience)
* Creativity, ability to innovate, and independent thought
* Ability to use data and metrics to measure the performance of merchandising efforts
* Strong English written and verbal communication
* Ability to execute good business judgment and comfort with ambiguity
* Comfort with mathematics and performance analytics
