Disney Publishing Worldwide develops original, award-winning content (both Disney and non-Disney branded), including Disney books, magazines and comic books. Its products are printed in more than 85 languages across 103 countries, and it is considered the largest publisher of children’s books and magazines in the world.

Senior Digital Editor

Disney Publishing World Wide, based in White Plains, NY, is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and digitally savvy senior editor to help develop our rapidly growing digital list by creating innovative reading experiences for children via the web, e-books/ i-books, and apps. The successful candidate will have strong editorial skills, be detail-oriented and organized, and capable of handling multiple projects at once.

The senior digital editor will be responsible for working with the publisher, the digital media & strategy teams, editorial, design, art, and managing editorial departments, and oversee the work of the a digital editor. Digital publishing includes content from both the Disney Book Group (our Disney Press and Disney-Hyperion North American publishing programs) and the content we license (our global publishing program).

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of our digital strategy and formulation of our digital publishing lists

• Oversee the editorial, art, and design development of our print books to digital formats and develop new digital book product from our vast catalog of existing content, ensuring editorial excellence in all our digital products.

• Work with cross-functional team on ongoing and developing mutli-platform projects.

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with all internal stakeholders

• Supervise the digital editor

Requirements:

• Candidates with 5 + years of children’s book editorial and/or children’s digital product development experience preferred.

• Ability to discern quality of a strong children’s product both visually and editorially

• Detail-oriented individual with a big picture mentality. Excellent collaborative skills a must to succeed in our cross-functional organization.

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

• Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
