Free Writing Workshop for Women at the Seaside Library (Oregon)

Date: begins 20 May 2011 and runs for eight weeks

A free writing workshop for women begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20 and runs for eight weeks. The workshops will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays at the Seaside Library Discovery Room. The class will be co-facilitated by Susan Firghil Park and Becky Hart. Class exercises will include timed free writes, discussion of journaling techniques, writing as a meditative practice and writing from observation of the natural world.

Park has published a poetry chapbook, "Estuary Light," and is currently completing her MFA in creative writing at Pacific Lutheran University. Hart has published her writings in a number of publications and has written a weekly gardening column. Her paintings have been featured at area galleries such as RiverSea Gallery in Astoria.
