Babble.com, recently named one of Time magazine’s Top 50 websites, is seeking a net-savvy editor who has 1+ years experience working for online publications. The candidate should be interested in all things pregnancy, baby, and child (service and non-service related) but also needs to be highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks, comfortable working in a small team, experienced with online and social media and super keen to develop their online career. You will report to the VP of content and community and have the opportunity to be responsible for one or more parenting editorial channels on Babble. Being a parent is a plus but not necessary.
The job will specifically entail:
* Developing & commissioning first-person essays and service features on parenting topics
* Editing copy for clarity and style
* Producing content for publication online
* Forming and maintaining online partnerships for social media
* Achieving specific traffic goals
* SEO
* Spearheading and executing social media plans for all content
* Managing budgets
* Analyzing traffic trends in Google Analytics and reporting
The ideal candidate will have:
* 2+ years of writing/editing/blogging online
* Knowledge of online and social media
* Ability to edit copy to a tight deadline
* Ability to stay abreast of parenting/pregnancy trends and report on them in a timely fashion
* Knowledge of HTML, Google Analytics, and SEO a plus
