Job Opening: Editor for MarthaStewartWeddings.com (New York)

Primary Purpose

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is currently seeking an Editor for MarthaStewartWeddings.com. This position is responsible for growing MarthaStewartWeddings.com and related products into a destination for brides. The overall goals for the Editor are to ensure user satisfaction, engagement and retention as well as increase page views year over year.

Responsibilities

-Responsible for ownership of site and/or site section(s), including content and functionality development plus promotional strategy. This includes packages, headlines, new features and functions, identifying and filling holes in coverage.

-Edit, write, and/or coordinate writing of all copy including homepage, newsletters, articles, blogs, etc.

-Oversee functionality including tools and navigation

-Collaborate with other MSLO properties and departments including magazines, television and advertising

-Analyze data to evaluate success of online programs and affect programming choices.

-Become well-versed on site users (and potential users) and their behaviors. Hone programming to speak to the audience for maximum impact.

-Identify and prioritize site optimization tactics based on performance metrics (traffic and revenue)

-Guide improvement of copywriting practices via continual review of click-through-rates and other success metrics.

-Track competitors in marketplace; react quickly to trends, develop unique features and tools for MSLO properties

-Participate in new digital development projects as necessary.

-Understand and apply SEO principles as they relate to content.

-Other duties as assigned by content director.

Requirements

The candidate should have at least 5 years of digital editorial or marketing experience with a proven track record in the digital space. Strong candidates will be able to both see the big picture and jump into the details as needed. Other helpful traits: diplomacy, coordination, creativity. Category knowledge of weddings preferred.
