Writing for Kyria Magazine (pays $50-$150 per article)

KYRIA readers are women who are mature in their Christian faith, knowledgeable about the Bible, and who exercise influence within the body of Christ, primarily through involvement in local churches. These women take their gifts and calling seriously and are committed to helping others pursue a deeper faith in Christ.

Our Writers

* KYRIA does not accept unsolicited manuscripts. Please query first (see below).

* KYRIA will report on queries and solicited manuscripts in 8 weeks.

* All submissions are received on speculation. An accepted query doesn't guarantee purchase of the manuscript. Editors reserve the right to reject any manuscript at any stage.

* Payment on acceptance of completed articles, $50-$150, exclusive online rights, and nonexclusive rights as dictated by the Christianity Today International policy statement.

* KYRIA does not accept simultaneous submissions.

* KYRIA does not issue kill fees.

Query letters should include:

1. Your name, mailing address, email address, daytime phone number.

2. A summary describing your article idea.

3. The purpose of your piece and its value to the KYRIA reader.

4. Your qualifications to write the piece.

5. Suggested length and date by which you could finish it.

Please address your query letter to the KYRIA Acquisitions Editor. No query should be sent without a thorough knowledge of KYRIA's audience. We accept both mail and email queries. Send queries and other editorial correspondence to the address listed below. Please include your name, postal address, email address, and phone number. If we request to see your manuscript, you should submit it double-spaced and include your name, postal and email address, phone number, and word length on the first page. If you submit material through postal mail, include a SASE for possible return of the manuscript.

KYRIA.com divides its content into the following categories: spiritual formation, missional life, women's ministry, church leadership, marriage & family, and hot topics. Spiritual formation covers Bible study, devotionals, prayer, spiritual disciplines, theology, spiritual issues, and profiles of faith. Missional life covers outreach and evangelism, missions, service, social action and advocacy. Women's ministry covers ministry or church life issues, mentoring, training, and practical ideas for doing ministry better. Church leadership covers ministry life and leading effectively. Hot topics covers self-care, women's issues, the single life, pop culture, global concerns, and current events.

KYRIA purchases expositional articles, how-to articles, personal or reflective essays, reportage, profiles, first-person narratives, Bible studies, and devotionals. We don't accept fiction, poetry, celebrity interviews, product reviews.

All articles should be between 600 and 1,500 words.
