Vacancy: Editor for Canadian Parents and Today's Parents

Rogers Digital Media, Consumer Publishing Division, is seeking a team oriented, creative individual to fill the role of Digital Editor for two of Canada's premium parenting brands, Today's Parent and CanadianParents.com

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Your primary responsibility will be to execute the day-to-day editorial operations and co-develop a cohesive editorial plan for the site in conjunction with the General Manager and Editor in Chief of Today's Parent.
* Remain up-to-date on brand strategy and ensure web site content is inline with vision of the site;
* Develop editorial ideas, lineups and long term plans for the web site;
* Participate in production, editorial planning and story meetings with print and web editorial teams;
* Work closely with the editors and producers in the development of all site pages and sections;
* Edit copy and write display for the site as well as image selection;
* Ensure all content is optimized for search engines;
* Work with the GM to ensure that web-related sales and marketing programs are executed;
* Prepare content and traffic reports;
* Moderate forums, comments on articles, and social media connection points (eg. Facebook, Twitter);
* Prepare and edit all eNewsletters;
* Ensure that the site is functioning optimally and report/monitor bugs;
* Monitor competitors and stay abreast of innovations in the industry

* Minimum of 2 years online editorial experience;
* Excellent writing and editing skills;
* Strong understanding of Internet publishing;
* Working knowledge of web analytics programs, SEO, SEM and content management systems;
* Basic HTML and Adobe Photoshop experience;
* Knowledge of video production is an asset;
* An interest in the focus of the brand;
* Solid presentation skills;
* University degree (online media courses an asset);
* Organized and deadline-oriented. Excellent team player with the ability to deal with multiple demands in deadline-oriented position.
