Paid Internship at Bonner Corporation (publisher of Parenting and Saveur)

Bonnier Corporation, publisher of 50 magazines in the U.S., including Popular Science, Saveur, Parenting and Transworld Skateboarding, is looking for an intern for its new San Francisco-based R&D department. Our research and development efforts are focused on emerging technologies relevant to media and publishing, particularly as they pertain to new devices like the iPad and other emerging touch-screen devices. Bonnier R&D is in charge of the development of the company’s digital magazine platform, Mag+, as well as mobile applications and product development for the company’s magazine brands. In addition to the continued improvement of Mag+, our current projects include the creation of a new breed of mobile advertisements, a company-wide strategy for online video and TV content widgets, and the dissemination of new tech knowledge within the organization.

Intern duties will primarily focus on community management, social media and research (collection and analysis of existing published studies, coordination of focus groups and project-specific design research). There will also be ample opportunities to contribute to brainstorming meetings and concept development.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for smart, motivated individuals with a fresh perspective and a passion for technology and new media. Relevant university/graduate experience might include new media-focused journalism, interaction design, design research or information technology. Graduate student or recent grad preferred.
