Bay Area Kids magazine (www.bakidsmagazine.com) is looking for professionals in the following areas to contribute ongoing columns to our publication:

- Overall childhood development
- Family/childhood nutrition (including recipe ideas)
- Childhood education specialist
- General family/marriage/sex advice

We are looking for knowledgeable, if possible professionally degreed individuals. You don't need to be the best writer, that's what our editors are for, but you do need to have the expertise and knowledge.

Format can either follow a specific Question/Answer or each issue you delve on a specific topic. What we don't want are stories about you or your business - these are not promotional pieces.

Total word count would be 350-550 words, and yes, we do pay per word (or we can trade for ad space if you'd like to promote your business). Your author line could also be used to promote your business.

Bay Area Kids will be printing 10 issues in 2011, so you would be looking at making a commitment to at least 10 issues.

To submit: we don't need resumes, but we need to know that you know what you're writing about - degree, work experience, and so on. Send to estrong@bakidsmagazine.com.

THIS IS NOT A GENERAL FREELANCE JOB FOR SOMEBODY WHO "LOVES TO COOK" OR "LOVES CHILDREN". We need professionals.

* Location: East Bay/Bay Area
* Compensation: 20 cents per word and/or trade for ad space.
